BOLLINGER COUNTY, Mo. - Two women were seriously injured as one vehicle crossed the centerline of the roadway and struck the other car head-on on Highway 72, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol crash reports Web site. Damage to both vehicles was extensive.
Shirley Y. Chalk, 73, of Patton, Mo., was travelling on Highway 72 1 mile west of County Road 356 at around 11:35 a.m. Friday when her 1993 Cadillac ran off the right side of the roadway, crossed the centerline and struck the 1998 Chevrolet driven by Joann Kirkpatrick, 61, of Marble Hill, Mo. Both women were transported by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center, where they were treated for serious injuries.
