PATTERSON -- A woman was killed Sunday following a one-car accident near Sam A. Baker Park in Wayne County, said the Missouri Highway Patrol.
The woman, Lela McGhee, 50, of Patterson Route 1, was killed after she was thrown from her car. The car overturned and she was struck by the car. The patrol said she was not wearing a seat belt.
The accident happened at 4:15 p.m. on Highway 143. The body was taken to Ruegg Funeral Home in Piedmont.
The patrol reported an accident Sunday on Route N, three and a half miles south of Scott City. The two drivers involved in the accident were injured.
Kimberly Peeler, 19, of McClure, Ill., and Melanie Ledure, 21, of Scott City, were taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, the patrol reported.
The patrol said Peeler lost control of her car on wet pavement, crossed the center line and hit Ledure's car.
