DEXTER -- Two Poplar Bluff women were killed Wednesday afternoon when their car turned into the path of an oncoming pickup truck on a Highway 60 overpass one mile north of Dexter.

Pronounced dead at the scene of the 3:15 p.m. accident were the driver of the car, Delinda Cozad, 45, and her passenger, Maggie Piercy, 64.

The truck was driven by Chester Caldwell, 28, of Bloomfield. He was treated for minor injuries at Dexter Hospital.

The driver of the car was not wearing a seat belt, according to the highway patrol. Her passenger was.

Their bodies were taken to Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter.
