CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. -- A body was found floating in floodwaters Sunday night in Pemiscot County.
Police received call at 7 p.m. Sunday of a van stuck in a bean field and a body floating in floodwaters off County Road 553, southeast of Caruthersville, according to a news release from the Pemiscot County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies and a Pemiscot County rescue squad arrived at the scene and recovered the body of white woman. The woman appeared to have been there for several days, officers reported.
The Pemiscot County Coroner took charge of the body, and an autopsy was scheduled Monday in Farmington, Missouri.
