Woman stabbed in altercation in Cape

A woman told Cape Girardeau police she was stabbed following an altercation Monday afternoon in the 300 block of South Middle Street.

The woman gave police the name of another woman who she claimed stabbed her in the chest while the two fought, chief Carl Kinnison said. After police responded to the 1:30 p.m. call, the victim was taken to an area hospital to be treated for her injuries. No details were available on her condition.

Kinnison said no arrests have been made but that an investigation is ongoing.
