FRUITLAND -- A 70-year-old Jackson woman sustained moderate injuries Monday when the vehicle she was riding in was struck from the rear on Highway 177 near Fruitland.
Elizabeth Blackwell was taken to St. Francis Hospital after the 3:40 p.m. accident 1 mile east of Fruitland.
The driver of the car, Voren Blackwell, 72, of Jackson, was not injured.
The driver of the other car, Jeffrey Morris, 17, of Jackson, also was not injured.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when Blackwell's vehicle slowed in traffic and was struck from the rear by Morris' vehicle.
