JACKSON, Miss. -- A woman who was critically injured during a co-worker's shooting rampage last week has died, bringing the number of victims to six killed and eight wounded.

DeLois Bailey, 53, died Tuesday afternoon, said Ann Weddington, a spokeswoman for Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian.

Doug Williams opened fire at a Lockheed Martin plant in Meridian on July 8, shooting 14 co-workers before committing suicide. Employees have described Williams as a racist who had made threats to blacks at the factory.

Also Tuesday, the plant reopened, and Williams' girlfriend, Shirley Price, said she was fired the day before.

"They just said it was in the best interest of the company," said Price, a Lockheed Martin employee for nearly 24 years.

Factory officials confirmed that Price was no longer working there but refused to discuss details.

At a memorial service for the victims last Thursday, Price had stood up, defiantly announcing that Williams was "a human being, too," and complained he was left off the list of victims.
