ST. LOUIS (AP) -- A 15-year-old suspect is in custody after a failed carjacking attempt in south St. Louis.

Police say the teen forced his way into a woman's car Tuesday night, pulled out a gun and ordered her to drive. After just a few feet, the teen ordered the victim to stop and let him drive.

Eventually, the woman was ordered to get into the trunk. When she refused, the teen allegedly threatened to shoot her. But he backed down.

With the woman still in the car, the teen picked up two friends for the joyride. They suddenly stopped and got out. The woman gave police a detailed description. Officers found the suspect within an hour, along with the BB gun he used in the crime.
