FREDERICKTOWN -- A Bonne Terre woman was killed and four others were injured Sunday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident in Bollinger County, eight miles east of Fredericktown.
Erma Graham, 54, of Bonne Terre was killed when the vehicle she was driving hit head-on with a vehicle driven by Marcia Cook of Fredericktown.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Cook was traveling west on Highway 72 just east of the Bollinger County line when she crossed the center line and struck Graham's car. Graham, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was transported to Liley Funeral Home in Patton.
Cook was taken to Madison County Memorial Hospital in Fredericktown. She was later admitted to Barnes Hospital in St. Louis where she was in serious condition.
Two passengers in Cook's vehicle also were injured. Mariah Cook and Glenda Hydebreth, both of Fredericktown, were taken to the Madison County hospital. Cook was treated and released. Hydebreth was admitted to Barnes and was listed in serious condition.
Glenda Sanders of Fredericktown, a passenger in Graham's vehicle, also was admitted at Barnes hospital.
Graham was the second fatality in Southeast Missouri during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, according to the patrol. Kyle Copeland of Bertrand was killed early Saturday morning when the vehicle he was driving ran off the road, struck a caution sign and overturned.
Four others were killed Sunday night in an accident two miles south of Dexter on Highway 25. Details of the accident were unavailable. The names of those killed in the accident were not released pending the notification of next of kin.
