A woman charged in connection with a hotel robbery in Jackson and an apartment robbery in Cape Girardeau waived her preliminary hearing Tuesday before Associate Circuit Court Judge Gary A. Kamp.
Julie S. Burns, who is also known to use the last name Lowe, is charged with two counts of felony first-degree robbery, for allegedly assaulting an employee at Comfort Suites in Jackson on March 25. She also allegedly broke into an apartment complex on Delwin Street in Cape Girardeau March 24 and stole money. In both incidents, investigators say Burns announced she had a firearm in her possession but never displayed the weapon.
Burns, who also has forgery charges pending in Cape Girardeau County, will appear in court again May 17 in Division II of the circuit court before Judge William L. Syler.
