ST. LOUIS -- Federal prosecutors have charged an eastern Missouri woman with two felony counts of making false statements to the FBI about receiving a letter containing anthrax.
Tracy Ballew-Flood, 32, of Montgomery City, faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $500,000.
Authorities said in October, Ballew-Flood twice told an FBI agent she had received an envelope in the mail that had a powder inside she feared was anthrax. She later admitted she placed the power inside the envelope herself, authorities said.
