BENTON, Mo. -- An altercation with a family member has left a Sikeston woman in jail.
Kasey L. Schrunk, 22, is charged with second-degree domestic assault and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
A news release from Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter says the incident occurred Tuesday at 10:52 p.m., when Deputy John Caudle responded to an address on Sloanville Drive for a physical assault in progress.
On the way, Caudle was told the suspect had left the scene in a red truck. The deputy found the vehicle parked on County Highway 405 and spoke with the occupants before all of them returned to the location of the reported assault.
Caudle determined Schrunk had placed her infant in jeopardy during a physical altercation with a family member. Schrunk was arrested and transported to the Scott County Jail.
