KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A woman is accused of slapping a police officer's horse during a protest of a rally for presidential candidate Donald Trump.
April J. Foster, 29, was arrested at 5 p.m. Friday on a municipal charge of abuse of a police service animal.
She was released after posting $500 bond.
Police said two officers on horseback were trying to keep a large group of protesters from backing into Main Street near the Power & Light District on March 12 when Foster screamed at one of the horses.
The officer riding the horse said the animal wasn't startled by that, so Foster pushed it and slapped it in the face.
