A Perryville, Missouri, woman allegedly amassed about $6,500 in unauthorized transactions by stealing her grandmother's identity.
Jennifer L. Lohmann, 33, of Perryville faces a charge of identity theft that could carry a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison. A warrant for her arrest was issued Thursday.
On July 11, Patti Akers informed Perry County sheriff's deputy Jason L. Klaus about unauthorized usage on her mother Hildegard Guth's Visa credit card and US Bank checking account, Klaus wrote in a probable-cause statement.
On the credit-card statement, Akers noticed a purchase of $229 from Dollar General in Fruitland. Akers said a credit card was applied for using the address 12466 Highway C in Frohna. Akers noted Lohman would have access to mail for Guth, her grandmother, at her mother's house,
On Sept. 18, Akers reported $4,599 in purchases on a card Guth had yet to receive and another $1,448 in transactions from a different account, Klaus wrote.
Klaus traced purchases for Six Flags tickets at Perry Park center, where a salesperson notated "Jen Lohmann purchased the tickets," Klaus wrote. Klaus contacted a Perryville Wal-Mart Supercenter loss-prevention supervisor, who identified Lohmann making fraudulent purchases through surveillance video.
