MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Authorities say a drunken, underage and belligerent Marble Hill man crashed a party by threatening others with a loaded gun, trying to run some of them over in his truck and purposefully crashing the truck into other vehicles.

Jacob W. Cook, 20, is charged with seven felony counts and two misdemeanors. Among the felonies are leaving the scene of a crash, armed criminal action, two counts of first-degree property damage, second-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon. Misdemeanor charges are peace disturbance and being a minor in possession of alcohol.

Cook is accused of threatening the host of a party with the gun before getting behind the wheel of his truck, slamming it into other vehicles and attempting to run over partygoers, according to a probable-cause statement by Bollinger County sheriff's deputy Della K. Moore.

Witnesses say Cook went to a party on Oct. 20 on County Road 326 in Bollinger County. They said he became belligerent and was restrained and placed in his truck to calm down. He allegedly pulled a gun on the host and drove his truck into other vehicles -- through a fence -- nearly running down partygoers.

Deputies had made numerous visits to Cook's home but were told by his mother that Cook was not there, Moore's statement said. Cook turned himself in Tuesday night.

An arraignment is set for 9 a.m. Wednesday before judge Scott Thomsen. No defense lawyer was listed in online court records Saturday.
