WISCONSIN DRIVER KILLED ON I-55

SIKESTON -- A Wisconsin man was killed and a passenger injured in a one-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon.

The accident occurred at 2:45 p.m. on Interstate 55 about three miles south of Sikeston in New Madrid County.

The driver, Roosevelt Patterson, 48, of Milwaukee, Wis., died when his car ran off the left side of the road and struck a guard rail before overturning in a water-filled ditch, the Missouri Highway Patrol said.

A passenger, Carla Carson, 34, also of Milwaukee, was injured. She was taken to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
