A winter weather advisory remains in effect for Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois starting at 3 p.m. today and ending at 6 a.m. Saturday
Precipitation is expected to change over to snow late today in Southeast Missouri, with about 2 inches of accumulation expected. Amounts could be higher in Southern Illinois, according to the advisory from the National Weather Service.
Travel could become hazardous as snowfall increases into the evening hours and the temperature drops back down to near freezing.
