The Cape Girardeau County Legal Secretaries Association, won several award during the Missouri Association of Legal Secretaries Convention held recently at Kansas City.
Local chapter president Glendella May, secretary to A.M. Spradling Jr., won "Outstanding New Member" honors.
The chapter's `Legalette,' a local bulletin prepared by Karen Hancock, won first place in the state bulletin contest.
The chapter's scrapbook also prepared by Hancock, took second place honors in the "History Book Contest."
Attending the convention were May, Hancock, Mary Tripp, Cheryl Amos, and Patricia Schreiner, chapter parliamentarian.
Tripp, 1990-91 state treasurer, was appointed 1991-92 state scholarship chair person; and Amos, chapter governor, was appointed 1991-92 state legislative committee chair person.
The local chapter will hold a meeting Thursday, with Susie Scott as hostess. Prospective new member wanting to attend the meeting may call Scott, 335-7200.
