Wilton W. Ervin, 75, 1952 Perryville Road, died Monday, March 6, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born June 16, 1919, in Cape Girardeau, son of Marshall L. and Ethel Beach Ervin. He and Edith L. Pruitt were married June 13, 1941, in Cape Girardeau.
Ervin had been a residential building contractor. He was a member of Maple United Methodist Church and its Methodist Men, Loyal Aiders Sunday School Class, and choir. He was a member of Gideons International, was a lay speaker in the United Methodist Church, and was active in lay witness missions 20 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Michael Ervin of St. Louis, Wilton and Mark Ervin of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Sue Keller of St. Peters, Joy Fowler of St. Louis; a brother, Marshall Ervin of Rushville, Ill.; a sister, Hazel Ervin of Cape Girardeau; 12 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at Maple Avenue Church at 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Jimmie Dace officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
