Nathan Wills of Bell City has been awarded a President's Scholarship and the Missouri Leadership Award to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 1997-98 academic year.
The President's Scholarship is worth $1,500 per academic year. It is awarded to high school seniors who rank at least in the upper 20 percent of their high school class and score 24 on the Enhanced ACT or 1,110 on the SAT. The scholarships are also awarded to students who are their class valedictorian and score 21 on the Enhanced ACT or 990 on the SAT, and to National Merit Commended Scholars.
The Missouri Leadership Award is a one-year award of $500 designed for Missouri students who have demonstrated leadership, scholarship and involvement. Students receiving the scholarship must have achieved a 3.0 grade-point average.
Wills will be a 1997 graduate of Bell City High School and is the son of Terry and Cathy Wills of Cape Girardeau and Pat and Rhonda Niemczyk of Bell City.
