Wet pavement was responsible for three accidents Tuesday, including one that left a 1-year-old girl in critical condition.

A spokesperson for the Missouri Highway Patrol said one accident occurred at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday in Scott County on Highway 91, 1 miles west of Morley.

Teresa Tallow, 21, of Bell City, lost control of her vehicle and slammed into a bridge railing, the patrol said. Tallow received serious injuries and a passenger in the car, Kailey McNew, 1, received serious injuries, the spokesperson said.

McNew was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau where a spokesperson said she was in critical condition late Tuesday night. Tallow was treated and released from Southeast Missouri Hospital, a spokesperson there said.

Three people were injured Tuesday in separate accidents in Bollinger County on Highway 34 five miles west of Marble Hill.

All three were taken to St. Francis Medical Center where a spokesperson said Gavan was in satisfactory condition and Null and Wood had been treated and released.

Another accident occurred at 11:15 a.m. along Highway 34 one mile west of Marble Hill. The patrol said Douglas Gromer, 18, of Lutesville, lost control on wet pavement, ran off the road and struck a tree and a telephone pole.

A passenger in his car, Connie Grover, 19, also of Lutesville, received minor injuries and was taken to Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. A spokesperson there said she had been treated and released.
