WESTVACO TO GIVE TREES AWAY FRIDAY

Westvaco Corp. of Wickliffe, Ky. will be giving away free tree seedlings at West Park Mall Friday as part of Missouri's Arbor Day.

Approximately 1,200 boxed, 6-8 inch pine seedlings have been prepared. Trees will be given away from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The seedlings come with planting instructions.

The paper company produces coated and uncoated paper and market pulp and employs 700 people.

The firm has planted over 1 billion trees and continues to plant nearly 45 million each year, said Sandra Jones, public relations manager for the firm.
