Cape Girardeau County Circuit Judge Benjamin Lewis sentenced Karl J. Westrich, 45, 3834 Highway H, to 25 years in prison Monday after Westrich pleaded guilty to four felonies: three counts of second-degree assault and one count of resisting arrest.
With the plea Westrich admitted to assaulting Brenda Brown, Ashley Morie and Cape Girardeau County Deputy Todd Stevens on April 25, 2004. The women had come to the home of Westrich's then-girlfriend Marsha Biller to pick her up after Biller called and said Westrich was assaulting her.
Westrich repeatedly rammed Brown's car with his truck, totaling it, and then attacked a police officer with a board with nails in it before he was finally subdued.
He will serve seven years for each assault charge and four years for resisting arrest, with the sentences to be served consecutively.
