CAPE GIRARDEAU -- All area non-profit organizations, including schools, churches, and hospitals, are invited to benefit from Westfield Works Wonders, a special evening of holiday shopping at Westfield Shoppingtown West Park.
The third annual event, Westfield Works Wonders will be held this year Nov. 19 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. During this gala evening, the Shoppingtown will be open only to those who make a $5 donation to participating nonprofit organizations. All money collected by each organization from ticket sales is theirs to keep. In addition, there are cash incentives for groups raising the most money.
"Westfield Works Wonders is fast becoming a holiday tradition for many Cape area families," enthuses Jim Govro, the Shoppingtown's general manager. "It is very gratifying to be able to offer nonprofit organizations this unique fund raising opportunity. Everyone involved in this terrific event, shoppers and organizations alike, comes out a winner."
For a $5 donation, shoppers enjoy special offers, free gift wrapping, refreshments, photos with Santa, door prizes, and a chance to win a grand prize shopping spree. An informational meeting is scheduled for Aug. 10 at 7:30 a.m. in the Kids "B" Fit Room in the Shoppingtown's Famous-Barr wing. Reservations are requested. Organizations interested in participating can call the Shoppingtown's marketing office at (573) 339-1333 for more information.
