West Park Mall will host special activities in celebration of this year's Fourth of July.
From July 1-4, the 135th Engineering Group and the 1140th Group Missouri Army National Guard will display military equipment, high mobility vehicles, a new communication system, a weapon display, uniforms, and a 1932 Chrysler general staff car at the mall.
Missouri Army National Guard personnel will also be available at the displays to meet the public and answer any questions.
Patriotic music will kick off a program at 12:30 p.m. on July 4, followed by a color guard and guest speaker at the mall. An honor roll call of Operation Desert Storm veterans will follow. All Desert Storm veterans and their families are invited to attend, and will receive a red rose from the West Park Mall.
At 2 p.m. in the JCPenney Court, a Little Miss and Mr. Fourth of July costume contest will be held. Ages two through seven will compete for the titles. Judging will be based on outfit, smile and overall appearance. Prizes will be awarded to the winners. Deadline for entering the contest is June 30.
