State Treasurer Wendell Bailey, who is kicking off his campaign for the Republican nomination for governor with a two-week, 92 stop tour of Missouri, will be in Cape Girardeau this morning.
Bailey is traveling the state in a bright yellow, 1977 checker taxi cab, which is being used to emphasize that as a candidate for governor, he's not for hire.
During the campaign kickoff tour, Bailey is stressing that he will limit contributions from groups and individuals to $100 between now and the primary next August.
Bailey's visit to Cape Girardeau is near the end of his tour and will feature a 7:45 a.m. dutch treat breakfast at the Holiday Inn.
Bailey stressed that the breakfast is not a fundraising event and is open to the public.
