Weekend accident kills Piedmont, Mo., teen
PIEDMONT, Mo. -- A 16-year-old was killed in a one-car accident at 9:56 p.m. Friday on Route B, four miles south of Piedmont. Pronounced dead at the scene was Chelsea R. Yant of Piedmont. PIEDMONT, Mo. -- A 16-year-old was killed in a one-car accident at 9:56 p.m. Friday on Route B, four miles south of Piedmont.
Pronounced dead at the scene was Chelsea R. Yant of Piedmont. She was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier northbound when it went off the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment and became airborne. The car struck several trees and came to rest on its top.

She was pronounced dead at 11:10 p.m. by Allen Derner, Wayne County assistant coroner. Her death is the 66th traffic fatality in Troop E.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Ruegg Funeral Home of Piedmont.
