SIKESTON, Mo. -- Sikeston was without power for 50 minutes Wednesday morning. According to Ed Throop, director of the Sikeston Board of Municipal Utilities, the outage occurred at 9 a.m. at the SWPA substation at the power plant as equipment was being installed. Currently BMU is working on electrical needs as part of the effort to replace a transformer which was ruined in 2009 during an explosion and fire at the Coleman Substation. Throop said this should be completed in the next several days...
