"Killshot," the movie based on an Elmore Leonard novel that included a week of production in Cape Girardeau, will be released in theaters on Nov. 7 according to the Web site of the Harvey Weinstein Co.
The film, long-anticipated locally, has been given release dates in the past that have not been met. When production crews under director John Madden were in Cape Girardeau in January 2006, the anticipated release date was in the fall of that year.
Killshot is the story of a couple entangled with a con-artist and a hit man. The production company brought Diane Lane, Mickey Rourke, Thomas Jane and Johnny Knoxville to Cape Girardeau for a week of shooting in January 2006, but reports since indicate that Knoxville's role has been cut from the film and all dialogue scenes shot in Cape Girardeau have been cut as well.
