This year, Southeast Missourian Web master James Baughn will work into early Wednesday morning on election night, posting a running election commentary on the newspaper's Web site. That commentary will come in the form of a web log, or blog, keeping Web surfers up to date with election news and results from local, statewide and national races.

Baughn said he will be scouring the Web in search of tidbits, rumors and breaking news regarding the election that he will immediately post on the site. In addition, Baughn said that semissourian.com will feature a color-coded Associated Press presidential election map that will give up-to-the-minute, state-by-state electoral results. The newspaper's Web site will also feature links to other Web sites, such as that of the Missouri secretary of state and the Cape Girardeau County clerk, that will offer official returns on state and local races.
