`WE CAN WEEKEND' SCHEDULED JUNE 14-16

A three-day retreat for cancer patients and their families will be held June 14-16 at YMCA of the Ozarks located near Potosi.

The "We Can Weekend" is sponsored by Southeast Missouri Hospital and the American Cancer Society. Weekend activities include recreation and relaxation sessions, support sessions and family sharing and faith expressions.

Staff members attending the retreat include Dr. Brock P. Whittenberger, director of Medical Oncology at Southeast Hospital; the Rev. Ray Otto, director of Pastoral Care; Chaplain Associate Connie Griswold; Nancy Mattingly, cancer program coordinator; and members of the Regional Cancer Center nursing staff.

Topics at the retreat will include understanding cancer, stress management and family dynamics. A $50 registration fee is refundable at the end of the weekend. For more information or to register, call Mattingly at 651-5550 before June 1.
