PIEDMONT -- A 20-year-old Piedmont man was killed in a one-car accident at 1:50 a.m. Saturday on Route B, three miles east of here.
The driver of the car, Ryan Young, was killed when he attempted to pass another vehicle. Young's car left the roadway and overturned, the Missouri Highway Patrol said.
Three passengers in Young's car were injured. None of the occupants were wearing seat belts, the patrol said.
Brandon Clyburn, 20, of Piedmont and Brian Hukel, 20, of Patterson were taken to Doctors Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff. Clyburn was treated and released. Hukel was in stable condition Saturday night in the hospital's intensive-care unit.
Gregory Huff, 20, of Benton was taken to Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, where he was in stable condition Saturday night.
