Water samples taken from a repaired water main came back safe Friday, allowing Cape Girardeau to restore full water supply to Southeast Missouri State University.

Residence hall students were encouraged to return to campus Monday. Classes will resume and offices will reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday.

The cast-iron water main was repaired by 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, but the line could not be activated until city officials finished testing and obtained safety approval. The university encouraged students living in residence halls to leave until service was restored.
