WAPPAPELLO SITE OF CHRISTMAS DRIVE TOUR

WAPPAPELLO -- The Army Corps of Engineers and the Greater Poplar Bluff Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its second Festival of Lights Auto Tour at Red Creek Campground on Wappapello Lake.

The tour will be held Dec. 15-23 from dusk until 10 o'clock each night.

Sponsors hope to use Redman Creek West and East campgrounds if there are enough participants. Any individual, business, group or organization that would like to participate should contact park ranger Andrew Jefferson at HC2, Box 2349, Wappapello, Mo. 63966; or call 314-222-8562. There is no charge.

Last year approximately 4,000 visitors drove through the illuminated campground, viewing various Christmas lights, ornaments and decorated campsites.

Free camping at Redman will be available during the event for those who decorate their campsite.
