Kyle B. Hoppmann has earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest award given by the Boy Scouts of America. He is a member of Boy Scout Troop 5 sponsored by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3838 of Cape Girardeau.
He is the son of Bob and Lisa Hoppmann of Cape Girardeau.
For his service project, Hoppmann restored the walking track and basketball court at Clippard School, which he attended, by upgrading it visually and making it safer by cutting low-hanging limbs, killing weeds and painting to encourage people to walk there.
Hoppmann has earned 30 merit badges since 1991, served in several leadership positions within his troop and was inducted into the Order of the Arrow in 1993. He earned Brotherhood in 1994, where he holds the position of 2nd vice chief.
Hoppmann is a freshman at Central Junior High School. He is a member of the junior high and high school marching bands, rock ensemble and concert band. He is a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church and youth group.
