Area women and their families who have lost a child during a pregnancy or experienced a stillbirth are invited to participate in a SHARE walk of remembrance Oct. 12 in Cape Girardeau.
The "Walk to Remember" begins at 10 a.m. at Capaha Park, with registration at 9 a.m. The walk will begin at Shelter No. 1 and then end at the brick memorial garden outside Southeast Missouri Hospital's lobby.
The event is not a fund-raising effort for the support group but rather a means of awareness, organizers say.
It is the first walk held in the area, though the support group has been offered for more than 18 years.
Participants in the walk who register by Sept. 25 will receive a T-shirt, ribbon and memorial book. Cost for entry is $20 and includes all those items. Books and T-shirts will be available separately on the day of the walk.
Parents, grandparents and siblings are invited to walk.
Parents and families can submit letters or poems with their registrations. Each submission will be included in the memorial book.

Registration forms and fees should be mailed to Dawn Kirby, P.O. Box 184, Cape Girardeau, Mo. 63701.
