The Cape Girardeau Wal-Mart Supercenter will make a holiday contribution to the local Toybox campaign to help provide toys to needy children.

The amount of the contribution will be based on a percentage of store sales from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 27.

Last year, more than $1.9 million was donated to local charities in Wal-Mart communities across the country.

"We are pleased to provice this additional support for Toybox," said Terry Godwin, store director. "We have a continuing emphasis to support our community and a commitment to caring and sharing throughout the year."

Toybox was the charity selected by associates at the store level. They will conduct fund-raising events at the store for Toybox during this week.

Toybox is a joint project of the Cape Girardeau Jaycees and the Southeast Missourian newspaper.
