Headlining the "Wailing in the Woods" music festival Saturday will be Cabin Fever, a five-piece St. Louis-based band that performs traditional and gospel tunes on stand-up bass, banjo, fiddle, guitar, mandolin and hammered dulcimer.

Leader Rick Thum has performed in various rock groups since the 1970s. He also has recorded three albums, including one compilation of hammered dulcimer tunes.

One member of Cabin Fever formerly played with the Ozark Mountain Daredevils. Cabin Fever will play at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Also on the bill is The Shade Tree Company, a folk trio composed of Barney Hartline, Jim Hickam and Terry Wright. The three are hosts of the locally produced KRCU 90.9 FM show "Your Folk Connection."

They will perform at noon and at 7 p.m. Saturday.

The New Creations men's choir from Teen Challenge will perform at 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. The choir has just released a new recording titled "We Worship Him." The concert will include both contemporary and traditional gospel music.

Performing at 2 p.m. will be dancers from the Northern Cherokee Nation. Christian comic Lisa Hassler will take the stage at 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Besides music, the festival will offer children's entertainment, crafts, a petting zoo, Indian dancers and line and contra dancing. Barbecue, frozen yogurt and funnel cake will be sold.

Hosts of the festival are KFVS TV 12's Carrie Cline and KZIM radio's Cindie Jeter. The event 11 a.m.-11 p.m. is a benefit for Southeast Hospice.
