CHAFFEE -- Vonda Jean Garrett, 49, of Chaffee, died Thursday, May 26, 1994 at 2:45 p.m. at St. Francis Medical Center after a brief illness.
She was born Dec. 30, 1944 in Cairo, Ill. to the late Richard Garfield and Ellen Marie Phillips Nickell. She had lived in Chaffee the past six years, where she was a member of the People's Pentecost Church.
She also lived for a time in Dogwood, near East Prairie.
On May 29, 1962, she married Sammy E. Garrett. He survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Richard Garrett of Marston, David Garrett of Chaffee, and Marvin Garrett of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Harold and Gary Nickell, both of Kankakee, Ill.; three sisters, Mary Martin of Kankakee, Ill., Judy Hanson and Beverly Brown, both of Arnold; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
Funeral services will be held this morning at 11 in the Shelby Funeral Home Chapel in East Prairie. Spencer Bass, pastor of the People's Pentecost Church of Chaffee, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery, near East Prairie.
