The Visiting Nurse Association of Southeast Missouri recently held an awards banquet honoring the accomplishments of key staff members, volunteers and employees. VNA is a private, not-for-profit home health service provider, licensed by the state of Missouri and certified by Medicare and Medicaid.

Recognized for continuing to improve patient outcomes with the Warren Manning Commitment to Service Award was Pat Hutteger of Cape Girardeau. Hutteger is the quality assurance director.

Board member Roger Jespersen of Charleston received the Layton Pickard Memorial award for his insight on matters important to the mission and growth of the VNA.

Kim Laub of Sikeston, manager of the VNA Home Medical Equipment warehouse in Dexter, was recognized as employee of the year. Brian Land of Jackson, who provides physical therapy throughout Poplar Bluff, was honored as therapist of the year.

Apryl Craft, LPN, of Sikeston, Mo., was chosen as VNA Hospice employee of the year.

VNA Private Duty Above and Beyond Award was given to Christina Hahs, LPN, of Jackson.

Ladona McNulty of Cape Girardeau was named as one of the Homecare Aides of the Year.

Rita Kelly of Millersville was honored for 15 years of service. Dianna Carter and Callie Smoot of Cape Girardeau were honored for 10 years of service. Summer Childers and Tonia Gonzalez of Cape Girardeau, Shirley Kasten of Uniontown, Angela McGuire and Donna Fisher of Chaffee, Mika Parker and Kim Laub of Sikeston, and Dorothy White of Marble Hill were honored for five years of service with the VNA.

Five-year Hospice volunteers Susan Hoffman, Judy Morrow of Sikeston and Nancy Holmes of Oran were honored.

The VNA's mission is to set the standards of excellence in the delivery of home care services to the citizens of 14 Southeast Missouri counties, including Cape Girardeau and Scott counties. They deliver therapeutic, custodial, palliative and preventive care in a cooperative and seamless system, using innovation, diversification and cost efficient methods in an environment that fosters learning and demonstrates positive outcomes.
