The Vincentians of St. Mary's of the Barrens will be the subject of the second annual Friend-Bollinger Regional History Lecture to be delivered in Perryville, Mo., and Cape Girardeau this week. Dr. Patrick Foley, a professor of history at Tarrant College in Fort Worth, Texas, will deliver the lectures at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Perryville Community Center Theater and at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the University Center Ballroom. Both are free and open to the public.

Foley is the author of a new book on the life of Bishop John Odin, a prominent figure in the religious and educational development of the Mississippi Valley and the American Southwest.

He is the editor of Catholic Southwest: A Journal of History and Culture.
