Country music superstar Vince Gill will perform Oct. 8 at the Show Me Center, kicking off Homecoming weekend at Southeast Missouri State University.
The most recent album by Gill, an 11-time Grammy winner, is "The Key."
On the bill with Gill will be Jo Dee Messina, whose single "Lesson in Leavin'" is now at No. 2 on the Billboard charts and whose current album, "I'm Alright," is at No. 5.
Tickets go on sale Aug. 6, but the Show Me Center already is accepting mail order ticket requests for people who are not interested in prime seats and don't want to stand in line.
Phone the Show Me Center at (573) 651-5000 or (573) 651-2297 for information about placing a mail order.
After Aug. 6, people also may charge tickets by calling the Show Me Center box office at (573) 651-5000 or by going to the Web sites www2.semo.edu/showmecenter or www.ticketslive.com
The last country music concert held at the Show Me Center was the Tim McGraw show on Oct. 3, 1998.
Gill was scheduled to play at the Show Me Center for Family Weekend in 1995 but had to cancel at the last minute because he was chosen to host an awards show. When Gill canceled, he agreed to come back at a later date, Show Me Center officials said.
