Victim of fatal Sikeston crash identified

SIKESTON, Mo. -- The driver killed in a car crash Tuesday has been identified.

According to the Sikeston Department of Public Safety, the vehicle was driven by Shondell Ivy, 38, of Macon, Miss. Ivy was pronounced dead at Missouri Delta Medical Center where he was taken after the accident.

Law enforcement was notified of the accident at 1:27 p.m. Tuesday. According to DPS, Ivy was driving south on Interstate 55 when his vehicle entered the overpass. The DPS report indicated Ivy lost control of his vehicle, which then struck a guardrail, rolled over and landed upside down on Interstate 57.
