VFW Post 3838 and Auxiliary hosted the 15th District Convention Feb. 15 at the post home here.
Following the noon meal, the meeting was opened by District Commander Charles Thrower and District President Judy Thrower of Cape Girardeau.
Guests were the Voic of Democracy candidates from area high schools and their parents. Paul Welker of Notre Dame High School was first place winner in district and fourth in state.
Voice of Democracy is a scholarship program sponsored by the FVW. High school students are urged to enter each year.
The next district meeting is May 16 at Sikeston.
