The Joint Veterans Council of Cape Girardeau will hold a POW-MIA rally Saturday at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3838 lake west of Cape Girardeau.
Gates will open at noon with festivities beginning at 4 p.m.
Guest speakers will address issues of the POW-MIA dilemma and other veteran-related matters.
An early-evening meal will be served and refreshments will be available throughout the day. Cost of the meal is $5 for adults and $3.50 for children under 16. Those under 12 may eat free.
Beverages will be available and pies and cakes will be offered by the VFW and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Caps, T-shirts and hat pins commemorating the event also will be available.
Live music will be provided throughout the day and evening.
All proceeds will go to the Joint Veterans Council's programs and activities, which include Memorial Day services and a flag program and the Veteran's Day parade.
A council spokesman said the council plans to hold the rally each year.
