The John J. Pershing VA Medical Center plans to hold a meeting about veterans affairs' services and benefits to gather feedback from patients, family members and the community.
The meeting will take place at 5 p.m. on March 10 at the VFW Post 3174 in Sikeston (709 Smith St.). The meeting will begin with refreshments, until the actual meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. It is expected to last an hour.
"At the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center, our goal is to provide veterans with high-quality health care and excellent customer service," interim medical center director, Frank Kehus, said in a news release. "As part of that strategy, we want to work with our veterans and community partners to periodically gather input about how things are going. Town hall meetings give us an opportunity to hear directly from those we serve."
Kehus said the Veterans Benefits Administration from the St. Louis Regional Office and the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield will be represented at the town hall meeting. Recorders from Scott, New Madrid and Mississippi counties will be there to record official copies of Veterans' DD-214 military release papers.
VA Medical Center staff will on hand to provide information about VA programs such as home health assistance, educational benefits and the My HealtheVet website. (myhealth.va.gov) that permits veterans to view their VA medical records online.
All interested veterans and community members are invited to attend.
