The cities of Altenburg and Frohna, Mo., will receive federal grants and loans totaling more than $2.6 million to construct a sewer system.
U.S. Sen. Jean Carnahan, D-Mo., announced the grants from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Altenburg will receive a $586,000 grant and an $881,000 low-interest loan. Frohna will receive a $478,000 grant and a $717,000 low-interest loan. Both loans will be paid off over 35 years.
The new sewer system will serve 190 households in Altenburg and 150 residents in Frohna, Carnahan said.
