The Air Force "Airmen of Note" from Washington D.C. is known as one of the finest big bands in the country.

The band's roots go back to 1942, to the late Glenn Miller's Army Air Corps dance band. In 1950, the Air Force created the "Airmen of Note" to carry on the styles and traditions of that great band.

The 18-member band has toured the United States and has appeared in numerous jazz festivals including Monterey, Detroit/Montreux, New York, Notre Dame and Wichita. The band has also been featured on television and radio, including the Tonight Show and the Mike Douglas Show. Most recently, the band was featured on Nashville Now.
