Since Friday, Cape Girardeau has received 12.58 inches of rain, according to the National Weather Service in Paducah, Ky.

Chance of rain is 100 percent, with locally heavy rainfall possible. Up to two more inches of rain is possible, said Dave Purdy, meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

"It doesn't look quite as bad as after the last few days," Purdy said. "An inch and a half isn't a lot, but on top of everything else when everything is saturated, it is a concern."

A flash flood watch remains in effect through this evening.

A break in the rain will come Thursday and Friday when skies will be sunny with highs in the upper 60s.

There is another threat of storms Saturday and Sunday.
