Campus ministries at Southeast Missouri State University will celebrate Jesus Week beginning Thursday.
Activities are planned for each day, including a special speaker Feb. 18. Events are sponsored by Baptist Student Union, Catholic Campus Ministries, Christ Campus Ministries and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Events begin Thursday with a satellite conference at 5:45 p.m. at Dempster Hall Auditorium to discuss whether there is meaning in suffering and evil. A coffee house and entertainment is planned from 8 to 10 p.m. Friday at the University Center Club Room.
On Saturday, the Jesus Film, which depicts the life of Christ, will be shown at 8 p.m. at the University Center Missouriana Room.
Service projects to be completed by the campus Christian groups are planned on Monday.
On Tuesday, Mardi Gras celebrations are planned at 8 p.m. in the University Center lobby. Four students will share testimonies and stories about their faith at 7 p.m.
To conclude Jesus Week, Cameron Mills will speak at the University Center Ballroom at 7 p.m. Mills is a former University of Kentucky basketball player who will speak about how his faith helped him through his athletic career. Mills' appearance is sponsored by FCA.
